Hard Seed Characteristics and Seed Vigor of Ormosia hosiei

The Ormosia hosiei is a secondary protected wild plant in China, and its seed has hardness rate of 86%. To explore the characteristics hard difference vigor between seeds non-hard O. hosiei, water absorption characteristics, germination coat structure, permeability, enzyme activity, main biochemical substances were determined. results showed that dense obstacle to absorbing seeds; reason composed cuticle, palisade cells, thick-walled cells with impermeability. Hot treatment can soften remove wax grease from coat, concentrated sulfuric acid corrode local break barrier cuticle tissue. effectiveness dormancy better than hot treatment, but damage larger irreversible. germination, index, root TTCH content, SOD activity higher those seeds, SSC, conductivity value, MDA content lower seeds.
